Dancing figures and acacia silhouettes circle an orange sunset vessel, hand-painted by Only Mpofu. Triangular borders frame the scene, giving the rounded form a lively rhythm from rim to foot.
Enquire about this pieceEnquire by emailThe story
This pot carries a landscape that feels full of movement. Only Mpofu paints figures with raised arms against a warm yellow, orange and red sky, placing their silhouettes near pale sun circles. Bright clothing adds another layer of colour, turning the vessel into a scene of gesture and gathering rather than a quiet background object.
The painting moves around the original curved form. Other photographed faces reveal a spreading acacia, a giraffe and birds crossing the sky. Each view belongs to the same composition, giving the pot something new to show as you move around it. The brush texture stays visible, with the painted details following the surface of the vessel.
A broad upper band of black and yellow triangles, outlined in white, gives the rim a strong rhythm. A smaller patterned border at the foot completes the arrangement. Between them, the sunset painting occupies the widest part of the pot, allowing the figures and trees to remain the focus. The grey opening and original shape are kept clear.
Consider it for a furnished entrance, living space or distinctive hospitality room. Place it on the floor close to a wall, leaving the outline unobstructed and the room’s centre open.
