Sculpted Wood Pendant

This pendant begins with solid wood and the decision to give it an unexpected shape. Artessy cut and sculpted the timber by hand, letting the natural texture stay visible as the forms became more open and expressive. The result is a light that draws attention through its structure as much as through its glow.

Three distinct timber tiers make the composition: a small upper crown, a hollow middle slice and a generous lower ring with its natural bark edge. Short metal links connect the photographed forms, keeping the spaces between them part of the design. The difference in size gives the pendant a clear rhythm from top to bottom.

A single bulb brings light through the central opening and around the shaped timber. During the day, the grain and irregular edges hold the eye. In the evening, light makes the hollows more apparent and brings warmth to the surrounding room. The wood remains the main material, with the lighting assembly serving its sculptural form.
